Sessions may include fluid movement which organically arise throughout the clients session. This psychological therapeutic services applies somatics which reveals the communication of the subconscious, this is done by Hannah’s guidance into mindfulness. The client is able to notice how their behavior is shaping their daily life, and the energetic impact on the body. The imprints from childhood experiences, are also worked with as memories expose themselves within the body. The benefits are monumental as we become true inhabitants of our body, and its experience. The relationship with ourselves deepen, allowing us to listen more deeply. In this modality we continue to work towards a whole self, which requires to meet the fractured wounded parts. Lindsey began practicing yoga in her teens to cope with the stress of school. While attending college in Philadelphia for art, Lindsey saved up to become a certified yoga teacher in 2021 through Three Queens Yoga. She is specifically trained in Hatha yoga, a style that cultivates strength through both static and free-flowing movements. It also uses breath techniques, balance, and flexibility exercises to help increase overall body awareness and wellbeing.

Lindsey teaches group classes at two yoga studios in Philadelphia, but only offers private one-on-one sessions at South Philadelphia Community Acupuncture. She also teaches children’s yoga once a week with the nonprofit Mindfulness Through Movement, and substitutes on occasion with Yoga 4 Philly.

Richie Parrella is a Somatic Therapist, Certified yoga teacher, Reiki Master and sound healer trained in Prana yoga, based in the lineages of Kundalini and Tantra yoga and Ayurveda in the lineage of Dr. Vasant Lad. Lauren founded South Philly Community Acupuncture in 2007 with the aim to offer affordable and comprehensive health care to her community. Although she enjoys treating a variety of common conditions, Lauren takes a special interest in gynecology, fertility, pregnancy and postpartum care.

Lauren is nationally certified with NCCAOM and holds state licensure in Pennsylvania and Delaware. She completed a B.S. in Community Health Education from the University of Arizona in 1997 and a four-year M.Sc. in Acupuncture and Chinese Herbal Medicine from the Pacific College of Oriental Medicine in San Diego, California in 2002. Her postgraduate internship was at the Chengdu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in Chengdu, China in 2003 where she focused on Orthopedics and OB/GYN.

In 2004 Lauren moved to Hong Kong and continued learning different traditional medicines. She was able to travel extensively throughout Southeast Asia, China, Tibet, Nepal and India.
